Pete Johnson — Guide & Coach

A former teacher with more than 20 years of mountain biking experience, Pete is passionate about helping young riders develop their skills and confidence. He has supported numerous local and national races and is a long-serving leader with PCC Kids Club and the ESMS Mountain Bike Club.

Known for his calm and encouraging approach, Pete creates safe, enjoyable sessions in which every rider can progress at a comfortable pace.

  • British Cycling Level 2 Coach

  • Mountain bike and night-riding bolt-on awards

  • Advanced Outdoor First Aid

Iain Grant — Guide & Coach

A well-known figure in the Tweed Valley cycling community, Iain has spent more than 20 years coaching and mentoring riders at local and national level. As a founding member of PCC Kids Club, he has helped many young cyclists develop their ability and a lasting love of the sport.

Iain makes every session fun, inclusive and rewarding. His coaching is carefully tailored to each rider, helping them build confidence while reaching their full potential.

Calum Johnson — Guide & Instructor

Calum is a former competitive mountain bike racer who has competed in cross-country and enduro events at local, national and international level. His racing experience gives him an excellent understanding of bike handling, line choice and riding confidently across different terrain.

For the past five years, Calum has worked as a mountain bike instructor with the ESMS Carbisdale Project. His calm, caring approach helps young riders feel safe, supported and capable on their bikes.
